Evolution of Air Superiority Air Power over Hampton Roads

Aerial Performers

USAF Thunderbirds

The Thunderbirds perform for people all around the world to display the pride, precision and professionalism the U.S. Air Force represents. Through air shows and flyovers, they aim to excite and inspire. In addition to showcasing the elite skills all pilots must possess, the Thunderbirds demonstrate the incredible capabilities of the Air Force’s premier multi-role fighter jet, the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

ACC F-22 Demo Team

The team flies the USAF's Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor at airshows around the globe, performing air maneuvers that demonstrate the super-maneuverability of the F-22. These demonstrations include the power loop, split, and tail slide, as well as a high-speed pass and dedication pass. These maneuvers are based on those designed for combat operations, but are performed at much lower altitudes.

USAF Heritage Flight

The Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed on December 6, 2010 with the primary charitable mission of providing Heritage Flights to the public. These performances feature modern fighter and attack aircraft flying alongside World War II, Korea and Vietnam-era planes in a dramatic display of our nation’s air power history. Our formations serve as a living memorial to the men and women who have served – or are currently serving – in the U.S. Air Force, and we proudly fly in support of Air Force recruiting and retention efforts.
